kant.au is operated by Adrian Hewitt trading as kant.au (ABN 47 985 180 864), a sole trader registered in Tasmania, Australia.

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the kant.au ("the Service"). This policy supplements our Terms of Service and forms part of your agreement with us. Violation of this policy may result in suspension or termination of your account.

1. Authorised Use

You may only use the Service in relation to websites, systems, or resources that you:

  • Own or are the registered operator of
  • Have been explicitly authorised to manage or monitor by the owner (e.g. as an agency, consultant, or managed service provider acting on their behalf)
  • Have a legitimate operational need to interact with as part of your own infrastructure

You must not use the Service for surveillance, competitive intelligence gathering, or any activity that would infringe upon the rights of others.

2. Prohibited Activities

You must not use the Service to:

  • Conduct reconnaissance or gather information for the purpose of attacking, exploiting, or compromising any system or network
  • Scrape, harvest, or systematically extract data from the Service for resale, redistribution, or to build a competing product
  • Circumvent or attempt to circumvent rate limits, usage quotas, access controls, or any other technical restrictions
  • Automate access to the Service beyond what is provided by our official API, or use the Service in a manner that places unreasonable load on our infrastructure
  • Impersonate another person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with a domain or organisation
  • Facilitate or promote any activity that is illegal under Australian law or the laws of any applicable jurisdiction
  • Interfere with the Service's operation, security, or integrity, including attempting to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems, or data
  • Use the Service to send unsolicited communications or for any form of spam

3. API Usage

If your plan includes API access, you must:

  • Keep your API keys confidential and not share them with unauthorised parties
  • Respect the rate limits and quotas associated with your plan
  • Not use API access to replicate the core functionality of the Service for redistribution
  • Revoke and regenerate any API key you believe may have been compromised

4. Team and Shared Accounts

If you use the Service under a team or agency plan, you are responsible for ensuring that all members of your team comply with this policy. Account owners and administrators are responsible for the actions of users they invite to their team.

5. Reporting Abuse

If you believe someone is using the Service in violation of this policy, or if you believe your domain is being monitored without your authorisation, please contact us at [email protected]. We will investigate all reports and take appropriate action.

6. Enforcement

We may, at our sole discretion, take any of the following actions if we determine that you have violated this policy:

  • Issue a warning
  • Temporarily suspend access to part or all of the Service
  • Permanently terminate your account without refund
  • Report the activity to relevant authorities where required by law

Where possible, we will notify you before taking enforcement action and give you an opportunity to remedy the violation, unless doing so would compromise the security of the Service or other users.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

8. Governing Law

This Acceptable Use Policy forms part of our Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict between this policy and the Terms of Service, the Terms of Service prevail. This policy is governed by the laws of Tasmania, Australia.
